Making a wrong Decision by Chris Marcone

On April 12, 2007 I made a decision that would change my life as well as many
others forever. On this day I made the decision to get behind the wheel of my
pickup truck. The problem was I was drunk. A decision too many people make everyday with out thinking of the danger they are putting there selves in, and as
well as every one on the road around them. Some get away with out being caught
and put in jail or causing a wreck an injuring innocent people. I was not so lucky,
neither were the innocent people that were injured in a car crash that I cause because of my decision to Drive drunk.

My name is Christopher S. Marcone and I am an inmate of the Florida Department of corrections. I am serving Thirteen year prison sentence for D.U.I. manslaughter. On April 12, 2007 I made a fatal mistake of getting behind a wheel drunk. Because of my intoxication I ended running a stop sign and hit a oncoming car. A thirteen year old girl lost her life and three others were critically injured as a result of this accident that I caused.

After I serve my time and my sentence is up I will once again be able to be reunited with my family and friends. That will never happen for the family and friends of the young girl that was killed due to my reckless actions.

Although I will eventually be released and sent home to be with my love ones, I will live with this accident for the rest of my life. When I am back home and enjoying holidays, birthdays and just the quality time with family and friends I will not be able to fully enjoy my self knowing because of decision to drive drunk that day the victims family and friends will have some one missing at there birthdays, holidays, and just every day events.

Though I know I can never change the events of that day and nothing I do will bring back the girl who lost her life. I hope by sharing my story and telling my testimony to others it will help somebody to make the right decisions about drinking and driving.

By driving intoxicated you not only take a chance hurting your self, but you take a high risk of hurting or killing possible innocent people around you, not to mention your love ones or family and friends of possible victims of a accident you could cause by drinking and driving.

Story’s similar to mine happen unfortunately every day, but you can prevent it from happening to you. If you drink, drink responsibly and don’t drive. When you drive, Drive Sober And Save A life.
