Program History    AAA Auto Club South and Gold Coast Eagle Distributors, Inc. teamed up in Manatee County to offer the Tow to Go between Thanksgiving and New Year's Eve in Bradenton/Palmetto in 1998.


Purpose    This program is designed to protect both the intoxicated driver and the motoring public from avoidable car crashes.


Coverage Areas    Tow to Go program is available throughout Florida, Georgia, and Western two-thirds of Tennessee.


2009 Call Volume    In 2009, AAA Auto Club South received 1,600 calls. Since the program's inception, over 11,200 intoxicated drivers have decided to use Tow to Go vs. getting behind the wheel when their sobriety was in question.

TOW DATES

Motorists can call Tow to Go during major holidays in 2010 by calling (800) AAA-HELP (222-4357).

The dates when Tow to Go will operate are as follows.

Super Bowl: Through Sunday

St. Patrick's Day: March 12-17

Cinco De Mayo: April 30-May 5

Memorial Day: May 28-31

Independence Day: July 2-4

Labor Day: Sept. 3-6

Halloween: Oct. 29-31

Thanksgiving to New Year's Day: Nov. 24-Jan. 2
